I have an S video to RCA connector cable, but when I connect my laptop to my TV, it throws the breaker...why?

I am running the laptop off 110v, and the TV is 220v, but even when I plug the laptop into the 220, it throws the breaker...the only way it won't is if I run the laptop off battery. I would like to play videos I have on my laptop through the TV...

It sounds like it could be a grounding problem - which is why the laptop works with the battery but not when connected to the outlet. Have an electrician check all wiring both for 220 as well as 110.
