Men are obsessed with cars.So don't worry about that.We argue about the Bhp, the 0-60 and silly things like that.
Ladies is more in your mind and makes them insecure. I like that new Gok Wan TV programme.Stand in front of the mirror and like what you see. That's one the most important thing in life. Love thyself.
Don't wear that.It makes you look fat.Guilty about what you eat.Buy the books and learn the looks.Keep up with the latest trends. You are a slave to fashion
Its not worth it.No ones perfect. It is unnecessary. It is very vein.It is so synthetic. Don't be obsessed. Its not a contest!
Be yourself! Look inside yourself not someone else idea of perfect. Its the heart that matters.

Well, this is a serious subject for girls today. It is the growing media (films, TV, the news, Internet etc etc...) that is to blame in my eyes. If you think about how curvaceous the female body was in the old black and white films (OK the waist issue was still present then too, actresses usually had about a 22" waist, but they had hips and a bust)
You can only ask a few things of yourself in my eyes.
1) Are you happy?
2) Are you healthy?
3) Are you active? (exercise)
When you hurt your body (don't eat for example) this can affect how your body works, periods are affected, your tired all the time. Moods tend to swing all over the place which can affect relationships.
Does it sound like I've been there before? Cause I have and from my experience its so much more important to be healthy than unhappy.
FYI, I'm a size 10 in UK sizes so I'm not over weight. I used to be a lot lighter... and depressed.

Well, what with the pressure to be slim and slender and the race to have the 'perfect' body, it does seem like evryone is obsessed over their body image. Your friend probably is too self conscious and always thinks that she isnt pretty or slim enough, having low self-esteem thats why she's being like that. Why dont you try talking to your friend about what you think? Maybe it'll slow her down a bit on her obssessing with dieting...point it out to her that going on a strict diet now isnt exactly a good thing. Tell her it isnt 'cool' to be dieting 24/7. Diets do backfire and instead of losing weight, she'll be gainig extra pounds. Why dont you both get involved in a sport? Its great excercise and it'll build up self confidence too. =)

Take the crazy food first item on the food.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

They are obsessed because of the Media, Hollywood, runway models and magazines. Everywhere we look there are people and images that are telling women that a size 0 is what they should be. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14, she was and is considered one of the most attractive women ever.

If a woman is a mother it doesnt mean she is smart.
Your friends mother is the problem because of her obsession (gotten from tv, magazines, low self esteem etc) she sets bad example for her daughter - that thin is beautiful. Being skin and bones is not pretty at all - it looks sick and thats what they want to be.
Its never the food that is a problem - its all psychological issues.
Dont take them seriously.
(i bet your parents love you and want you to be happy so they dont push some kind of steriotypes on you- you are lucky)

Girls are obsessed with their weight because society says we should all be size two. And because we think society is right. It's the way of the world for us to think that we all have to be model thin before we're accepted into our society.

Love your body and know why. I like my body because I DO have curves. I'm not a guy, nor do I want to look like one. Whenever some girl is saying oh my thighs are fat tell her something you do like about her, compliment them for every insult they say. And don't forget to do that to yourself too. Thats the secret to not getting suckered in.

well from a nature vs. nurture view nature: women are menat to attract men so their looks are important to find a strong mate and to.produce strong young.
from a nurture standpoint. our mothers grandmothers and so on criticized their own and our weight and looks from early childhood on. magazines t.v. and men make us feel inadiquit when the "beautiful" standard of today is unrealistically set for most body types.

these days people follow other people. if one girl wants to lose weight, it will influence her friend to lose weight too since she probably keeps talking about it. and all the tabloids are talking about celebrities being so skinny, and that is getting in teen girls' heads too. they want to be just like celebs.
