Does anyone know where I could find an landscape painting lesson for beginners that is well-illustrated, etc., that I could paint along with?

The better way to go, Logan, is to start by copying any landscape painting you admire. Those step-by-step instruction books or videos aren't worth the effort to produce them in my opinion. Copy what you like concentrating on the color values (darkness/lightness) and the techniques used in applying the paint. Soon you'll be doing your own original work in your own style. Good luck!

Go to PBS.org, the alphabetical list of programs and down to The Joy of Painting to see when it airs in your locality. Our local library also carries a number of fine books and a few DVD's on the subject; perhaps yours does as well. Another way is to speak to the people in the shop where you buy your painting supplies, sometimes they are artists and will know just what you're looking for, and where to find it.

The public education channels all have painters that do landscapes very well. In my area they are on very early in the morning, especially on Fridays.

At Cheap Joes (cheapjoes.com) they have the biggest collection of videos and CDs and DVDs I have seen in any art catalog.
