If Dante's 'The Divine Comedy' is 'proved' to be 'Truth'? Do you mean as Dante wrote it, in an antique Italian which gives a headache to the relatively few Italians who bother with it today? Do you mean one of the several lousy English translations? Anyway, Dante was a bloody sad-sack of a fellow, wasn't he? Perhaps his mistress had just left him when he put pen to paper. Times change, societies change (a fact overlooked by most fundamentalist Christians and all Islamic ones). A different world, certainly a different Italy, was in place when the man wrote 'The Divine Comedy,' and much of what was an everyday thing THEN is gone-with-the-proverbial-wind NOW. I wouldn't rule out that the long poem could affect the way I live my life today; I just wish I could read the beautiful and mysterious Italian...metaphor, metaphor, metaphor...of Dante's time.

I wouldn't change anything because the only way to find that
1) Hell exist!
and
2) it's as described by Dante is to go there which means it's to late to change things.
Why wouldn't hell be like the DMV though, or better yet how do you know the universe isn't hell? You don't and nothing in the bible will define it clearly either.
I doubt that anything like Hell exist, and if it does it's for Satan and his angels and not humans.

Spiritually speaking, the divine comedy is not true. Thus, hypothetical questions are not good talking points in R & S. It is because it has no true basis and will only confuse peoples further.

If not good lessons for anyone in life what is better for one to learn to better oneself? Are those experiences not part of life in general?
