Dead is dead. On the very moment you leave your mother's womb you begin your dance toward death. We are mammals, we are primates, animals, and like all other animals we die. What happens in the grave is not pleasant to talk about in the morning, which it is here, so I'll leave that out. Humankind, fearing death, introduced the fiction that there is an afterlife. There isn't. And, think, if such a nonsensical thing did exist, what would an 'afterlife' in 'eternity' be like? If you rise from the dead, a decayed corpse who was, say, 87 at death, open-heart surgery, perhaps a cancer, a brain tumor, your sight long-gone, your hearing long-gone, etc., etc., just how wonderful would it be to spend all of eternity in such a state? Some religious folk say you rise again as a 'spirit,' a 'ghost' or even that your youth is restored. How much 'youth' enters the picture--are you now in a diaper again, are you 13 for all eternity, are you 16 with all the girl (or boy) woes of the average 16-year-old in Western society? It becomes something of a puzzlement to adult men and women who seek more and better answers than the ones provided by 'faith,' a blind acceptance of the tribal god in the superstition-driven Bronze Age.

I don't believe in an afterlife. Just life that never ends and that death has no power over. When we 'die' we go back to the Source to rest, review and plan the next trip.

The Bible explains;
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

And there is an 'afterlife'.
For most of us, even those who have died, it is on the earth.
(Psalm 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:34) Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it].

I am convinced there is life after death for one reason: Jesus Christ died and was placed in a tomb—and three days later came back to life.

Think about it a moment: What would it take to prove to us that there is life after death? The answer is clear: Someone would have to die, and then come back to life again. It wouldn't be enough for them to have a so-called "near-death" experience; their death would have to be real. And it wouldn't be enough for only one or two people to see them; it would require many witnesses.

But has this ever happened? Yes—when Jesus Christ rose from the grave! His death was real; hard-bitten Roman guards made sure He was dead before they took Him down from the cross. And His resurrection was real also, because hundreds saw Him during the next forty days. Paul, writing over 25 years later, noted that "he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living" (1 Corinthians 15:6).

How could this happen? It happened because Jesus Christ was not just another man. He was God's only Son, sent from heaven to save us from our sins. Only He could say, "I am the resurrection and the life. ... Whoever lives and believes in me will never die" (John 11:25-26). This can be your hope, by giving your life to Christ today.

We don't actually ever die - basically we a constantly producing parallel universes where you continue to live - but in the life you life now you are alive - if you die in one life a parallel universe is created for the people you leave behind and they see that life - but if you stay alive then you continue on the same path - (don't worry no one ever understands this theory) - but you can tell if you die in one world - like today i walked across the street and i didn't look before i walked and i felt this really horrible feeling inside, that was me dying but only one of me (we tend to overlook the feeling, but thats what it is a really horrid feeling that comes and goes in seconds) so in answer to your question no there is no afterlife - because it is impossible for you to die fully

Yes According to Revelations, the body is only a physical body which is only applicable to earth while the soul will be the one judged afterlife. It's whether you're going to hell or in heaven.

No..i don't believe that there is life after death. why? because the bible does not teach us that there is life after death. Instead, bible teaches us that when u die everything will gone to you and ur spirit will goes back to GOD the creator. However, the bible taught us too that there will be a resurrection of the dead in the near future.

I got to observe this both personally...AND, as of recently, PBS-ly...I became aware of energetical brain activities that are able to "make the death process more pleasurable...our brain's way of cpoing with death."
I also got to witness an "out-of-body"experience PERSONALLY.
I've been familiar with spirituality since, at least, age 2. I remember ANGELS in my crib...they taught me a song..."alll night...allll day...."
So, I would say...OF COURSE there's an afterlife....the PRE-LIFE is the introduction party!!!! We've got to accept our "lifetime achievement awards", right??? EVERYONE gets a crack at that. It's called confidence.
