Square boxes are easy and cheap to produce, and pizzas are round because its traditional. You can get square pizza at some places, but making a round box would require more materials and would be harder to put together.

Round boxes are difficult to make and do not stack a nicely. There are places that make square pizzas. Not sure why most are round. Actually most food is round. Pie and cake are two examples.

It is easier to roll out the dough in a round shape than it is to roll it out in a square shape, conversely it is easier to make a square box than it is to make a round box - Hope this helps

CUZ round is always more expensive to make than square.
Also its easier to lift the corner of the pizza if there is a corner.
