Where are you getting your figures for calorie burning? A person usually burns more than 250-500 calories in a day and needs to eat and drink AT LEAST 1200-1500 calories a day. From what you are asking and saying, I have no idea if you will lose weight and noone else would be able to honestly say either. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take in.

Sounds like your diet is very good. Your body will go for carbohydrates first, then protien, then fat/calories. If you are trying to lose weight, you should eat about .5-1 gram of protien per body weight. Also make sure you do not eat too many carbs in one meal, or too much fat. Stick with around 4-5 smaller meals in a day, each consisting of about 400-500 calories. And make sure to exercise too. But it basically comes down to this: If you eat less calories and fat than your body burns in a day, you will lose weight. Most body types will burn belly fat off LAST, so don't be discouraged if that if what you are looking to thin out and you don't see a significant difference in 2 weeks. Most people don't see a big difference for at least 4-6 weeks, and from there on, it keeps looking better all the time. Your body just needs a little time to kick up the metabolism and start becoming more efficient. Keep up the good work! You will see changes if you keep to it!

If you eat the same foods as before, you would lose weight if you eat lesser calories.

But I noticed that some diets cause weight to plateau very fast. After a month of weight loss, it stops and you have to exercise more and eat lesser to lose some more.

It happened to me, until I went on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein. I was doing the same exercises as before. I lost weight steadily for a year until I hit 108lbs.

A couple of pounds. But if you keep it up you can lose 50 -100 pounds in a year that way. Don't give up, just keep doing exactly what you are describing.
