If you want vista to run well DON'T go with the minimum required upgrades to your computer for it..

I have Vista Home Premium and love it! Vista is a slow running program. No matter how much RAM you have, it will be slower than XP. Try getting the Premium upgrade or go for the big one, Ultimate. It's all personal preference, but sooner or later you'll have to convert. Vista is going to have negative comments, just like XP did when it first came out. Give it some time and the bugs will be worked out.

By all means, upgrade to Vista! I finally did a couple of weeks ago when I bought a new computer and I'm very happy with it. No problems at all.
Ignore all the badmouthing you get from Vista haters. Even they'll eventually get with the program one day.
(Buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed).

I tried Vista and it made my computer so slow. Not to mention that not all my programs worked well with it! I was so excited to upgrading and ended up regretting it. Now I switched back to XP and I can say I'm very happy I did! Good Luck.

My suggestion:
If you really want Vista, then get the full install version, not the upgrade. And also get the best vista, not the cheapest.

it is only worth it if you buy a new computer with windows vista operating system because if you want to put it on your old pc it is a bunch of trouble because it requires you to reformat your entire computer, and lose all of your files and programs. unless you save them to a floppy disk or a dvd R 4gb which still is more trouble then what its worth, because then you need to reinstall the programs, files ext.

I suggest you wait until a service pack is released for vista.

Not at this moment. Better wait until the OS becomes stable.
