I'm planning on bringing an airsoft gun to Canada in my luggage not my carry-on. Am I allowed and if not what are the consequences if I get caught?

If I can't do they just throw it out or ship it to me?

Carrying weapons throught the airport is not difficult. Call them and let them know in advance. They will tell you how to do it properly and, most important, What not to do. No big deal here. Just use common sense and good communication with the airlines.

No they won't let you bring it in a carry on. You can check it through but will have to answer some questions. If you try to carry it through be prepared to have a long talk and answer lots of questions from people with badges.

Firearms carried as checked baggage MUST be unloaded, packed in a locked hard-sided container, and declared to the airline at check-in.

they will take it from you. I wouldn't even chance it. To them, a gun is a gun. Metal or plastic bullets, it doesn't matter. Don't even bother bringing it because you will get the TSA involved and you'll be asked to explain yourself.
