I never knew this existed--mapquest has a site where you can search for gas prices, and for stations with alternative fuels. Click under the "find gas prices" arrow to find the alternative fuels section, then input your city:

In Ohio, I believe it is required by law to display a sticker on the pump if the gas contains 10% ethanol, so I doubt this statistic is correct across the map. Shouldn't they have signs posted on the pumps that let us know what we are buying? Yes. Gas with ethanol burns cleaner, is better for the environment, and most vehicles handle it as well, if not better than, strait gasoline. Having stickers informing the public that they are purchasing a higher-quality gas would be good for sales, and the environment.

Almost ALL stations now sell a "mid range" gas that is ethanolized. Enough to raise the octane slightly but not so much as to cause vital part damage in vehicle designed for pure hydrocarbon fuel.

Not hard, just pay a bit extra for the mid-grade that advertises 10% ethanol.

IF you have modified your car to burn pure ethanol, you will not find gas stations, but will have to buy in bulk from industrial distributors. Regular denatured alcohol should work fine.

Remember there is not as much available energy in a gallon of pure ethanol as in a gallon of regular gas. So you have to burn more than to make the equivalent trip on gasoline.

Mohawk is one producer that adds a mixture of ethanol into their Gasoline. Also several provinces such as Saskatchewan is mandating that all fuels have i believe 5% ethanol in all fuels. But probably the best for you would be Mohawk if your area carries that fuel

Hope that helps
