yes blu ray player prices will fall - that is inevitable. Look at how expensive DVD players were when they first came out. Now some are $30!!! I would think some good bargains might come out around Thanksgiving.

Assuming that Blu-ray is the format that wins the HDDVD vs Blu-ray battle, prices will inevitably fall. I would bet on Blu-ray as being the successful format, especially since Sony reduced the PS3's price. When purchasing movie titles I find much lower prices on-line (like Amazon and Deepdiscountdvd) than at brick and mortar stores. You may see a price drop by Christmas, but I would actually expect it to be a bit later than that.

they are going to save happening like they have been. i'm effective they are going to hold off on a great drop for Christmas although. i might anticipate next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. yet another difficulty to maintain your eye on too although, is the fee for blu ray movies. they're priced larger then regular DVDs and could drop too.

Here in New Zealand the price of Bluray recently dropped $1000 overnight! So yeah, I do believe they will continue to drop fairly steadily.

It helps having the HD DVD as competition, because Im sure that will slowly decrease, and Bluray will have to follow or be left in the dark!!

well now there is competition, HD-DVD, real dvd's, not "blue-ray disks."
they may lower the price after christmas, depending on how the competition holds out.
but only time will truly tell.
