There is a big difference between being willing to die for your beliefs, and actively ending your life along with the lives of many others for your beliefs!

Terrorist are those who go out to terrorize others into terror. Dieing for your religious beliefs is being a martyr, who are usually killed by terrorists. Martyrs are peaceful people refusing to change their beliefs even if they have to die because of it.

I'm pretty sure the beliefs themselves would have to be honorable for the person to be considered honorable. This is why people on the inside will say it is and people on the outside will say it isn't.

You are confused.
Martyrs are willing to die for their faith.
Terrorists want to force everyone to do what they want by killing anyone else for their faith.
If this is unclear, go to the Middle East and say, "I am Christian and hate Islam".
In the United States there are those who would be willing to die rather than give up their faith.
It's very different from, "I am willing to kill others and die in the process".

Simply because their acts are cosnidered taboo and bad. In their countries they are moslty seen as honorable. What they did in their view was for God. That's why the war will be so hard to win, these people think and believe there doing an honorable deed for God.

Yes, I would be willing to die for my Jesus if someone put a gun to my head and told me to renounce Jesus or die- but a terrorist is different in that he commits the killing himself and takes many people with him.

There is a difference between the Christian ideal of refusing to deny God if it makes a difference of life and death and the Muslim ideal of killing innocent civilians so you can go to heaven and have your way with 72 virgins. One is passive one is aggressive. The Christian way affects only the believer, the Muslim way affects the world.
