Well, first of all you have got to get up and do knee bends and stretches at least once an hour when you don't have a break and lunch - see articles on blood clot risk for long time sitting like airplane flights.
If you do any filing or sorting, you will find that by tensing your muscles and bending against the tension, you can keep your posture better and get some muscle action.
While on the phone, especially on hold, standing beside your seat and either doing deep knee bends or bending at the waist (bowing) will extend muscles and tone them.
There are a series of isometric exercises (non-moving) that you can do by pushing and pulling on the desk with your hands - like pushing down on the front surface with your palms, building tension and relaxing or lifting under the surface. You can also hook your hands and pull or reach behind and lock hands and pull.

Many buy a set of exercise bands and look up different ways to use them?

I get up early and go to the gym 3 days a week because I also sit on my butt 8 hours a day.

When your sitting in your chair, squeeze your butt together, hold for like 10 secs and then release, keep doing this.
