Sounds like rosacea.
Don't scrub your face, and never use SOAP. Use a gentle cleanser, or you can use coconut oil (which won't cause more breakouts, as it is anti-bacterial) to remove makeup.
Avoid foundations and powders that sit on your skin, at least for the next few days. Always use cool water to rinse, never hot.
Try picking up a facial moisturizer with FEVERFEW. It will help to reduce the redness and calm your face, without making it all flaky like acne medication will.
Also, it may help to dab on some hydrogen peroxide with a q-tip.. don't go overboard, but it will help to cleanse the area and allow more oxygen into your pores so that they can release the stuff you don't want stuck in there. :)

I have had the same issue for over a year now. What has helped me the most is to:
1) not pick at them
2) been care full with scrubs because if you over do it it just make it more irritated and makes it more blemished and pimply.
3) make sure your skin isn't too oily or dry:

If dry: there are lotions MEANT for your face that won't make it worse.

If oily: wash and DO NOT leave cosmetics like foundation on, as it will make it worse and make zits.

I hope this helps!

1] drink LOTS of water - at least 1/2 gallon a day
2] avoid fried, fast, and junk food - even diet junk food
3] exfoliate every night with Aapri or St. Ives apricot scrub - this should help a lot!
4] use facewash, toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer for your skin type
5] take a quality multivitamin with minerals every day

The toothpaste will work, just give it time. Most pimples need to get bigger before they heal. Also, don't squeeze them or touch them constantly. You'll just spread bacteria and cause more little ones.
