Have you ever considered that your question is possibly based upon a false premise (an assumption unjustified by any more evidence than hearsay)?
Otherwise, there is an interesting story from one religion about how it was all created by a incomprehensibly large cow licking a massive piece of salt. So, if you like, blame it on the cow.
