I have posted this question in 5 categories that I think will be seen by women. I am a Mumbai housewife. I gave up my job when I got married 4 yrs ago. Now I want to work again & appeared for an interview. I think I will be selected, but my husband says no firm in their right mind would hire me. V have a bet on it. If I dont hear from them in 10 days, I lose & cant apply anywhere for 6 mths & have to be dressed up as an orthrodox housewife in sari, jew, make up, sindoor, mangalsutra, ghooghat, etc for 7 days. He has decided on this cos he knows I prefer to wear jeans & T shirt rather than dolling up like this. He however loves looks the gharelu look. If I am selected, I win. Then what shd I make him do? Make him take leave & do all the housework for a week? Or make him wear kajal & lipstick for a full day. His ears are pierced, so maybe make him wear my earrings for a day? Pls suggest.

I like the housework idea... however maybe make him wear the sari, jew, etc afterwork for a few days? let him see how difficult/ uncomfortable it can be?

No don't make him take leave!! He has to work AND do all the housework and cooking. Do you have any children? If so, he has to do everything for them too. He will then see how hard it is to be a woman. Then again I guess it would be good to make him take leave as then he would see how hard it is for women to be stuck at home day in and day out wishing they could get out of the house and go to a job.

Good luck and I hope he learns his lesson. Keep your chin up and if you feel confident and know you are the best person for this job then I hope you get it.
My money is on you to win the bet because we are the women and we always know best. lol

i agree with everyone else who has answered! Make him do what you are going to and then on top have him do housework! And about the whole wear a sari thing.....I'm postively sure you will win, but still when he's not home don't bother with it!

Best Wishes!

Make him dress in the traditional for 7 days himself and see how it feels. Also make him take care of all the housewife duties. . Good luck!

he should be punished in these both ways:

one for losing a bet : make him wear sari and all the stuff he asked you to do.along with long jhumkas.
second for not let you do job:let him do whole housework for you.

no offense to ur marrage or urself. but i think its unfair ur husband feels the need to control u. i would never let some man in my right mind tell me, (even betting as a joke), weither or weither not if i can be employed or not! im a Catholic woman not married yet. but even when i do get married i think a real supportive, and caring husband would allow me to work if those were my wishes

Excuse him for undremining your capabilities. Should he still insist on something, ask him to writ a promise on a piece of paper that he would not put such conditions in future.
