My aunt actually treats me like an adult and she takes me seriously. Any other ideas or do I already have my answer? I'm 16. Is it normal to not have very good communication with your parents at this age?

THIS IS VERY NORMAL.
You're probably subconsciously afraid of your parent's rejection and afraid of conflict. Let's face it, parent's are always going to be your harshest critic as well as your biggest fan.
I would suggest continuing to talk to whoever you feel comfortable talking to about serious stuff, but always try to keep some form of communication open with the parents. If you do, I promise when you are older that you will feel much more confident in confiding in your parents.

Sometimes it is easier to speak to somone you trust other than your parents. It is because of the expections that we feel our parents have for us.

probably because your Aunt doesn't judge you, but your parent would.
