any ways to test for veins??

I'm getting the top of my finger pierced [possibly] what could i do to find out if there are any veins?

If you poke it and blood hits the wall, vein.

Not only are there veins, there also many, many nerve endings in your fingertip - not a great place to pierce!
And then what - you aren't going to use that finger anymore?

you have them everywhere I wouldn't do it... why on earth would you want to pierce a finger???
