Basic traning isn't a freakin' daycamp! You sign enlistment paperwork you go to basic, you graduate, you get trained and you do your job. There is no "try it out". You go to Marine basic training you graduate a Marine! There is no choice.

Grow up and then think about being a Marine. If you on't tink you can cut it, then don't enlist!

You sound as if you want to test yourself, which is an honest enough reason to want to try and become a Marine, I think. It was also just one of the reasons I chose the Marines when I was 17. But that can't be the only reason. Before you ever get to Bootcamp there will be many hurdles to jump from paperwork to tests to physical exams. At one point on the day of your enlistment you will be sworn in. Believe me, when you utter those words with your right hand in the air, there's no question how serious the commitment is that you are making! The bottom line is you are giving up your freedoms in order to serve your country and the Corps- which in plain english means...you go and fight when and where the Corps tells you-period. Now, if you still think the Corps is for you, find a local recruiter and sit down and talk. Then talk it over with your parents. Personally, I credit the Corps for teaching me what it means to know honor, courage, and commitment- three things that many people these days don't understand anymore. When you become a Marine, you're a Marine for life. Good luck in finding whatever it is you seek.

Each branch of military has its own boot camp.So for example if you wanna be a marine you join marine boot camp and move on from their with whatever job you chose before you joined that branch. Never worry about making it its all from within I felt the same way before i joined the marine infantry and I loved it now Im out but I will always lok back on it as the greatest thing I did

*LOL* Trust me... if you complete USMC Boot Camp, there's no doubt that you will want nothing more than to be a Marine... There is no choice in the matter.. you don't ship for boot camp until you've signed on the dotted line... if you don't sign, you don't go. Once you get through boot, though, you will definitely be so proud to be a Marine that nothing could talk you out of it... at that point!

Each branch of service has their own boot camp, so which ever one you choose to enlist in will determine what boot camp you go to. I made the choice to become a Marine, hands down the most difficult boot camp of them all, (but not impossible). You will face challenges no matter what service you join and they all have something different to offer so do your research. For a look into USMC boot camp check out "Ears, Open. you decide which branch you want to go in before boot camp. you have to talk with a recruiter.

each branch has their own boot camp.

if you want to be a Marine, there's only 2 places you can go for boot camp which is San Diego or Parris Island.

and Marines have the longest, toughest, most difficult boot camp out of all the other branches.

If you join the Marines you go to Marine Basic Training
If you join the Air Force you go to Air Force Basic Training
If you join the Army you go to Army Basic Training.

Etc. You don't just go through 1 basic training course, its not one basic training fits all.

You choose a branch, then you enlist and go to basic. No branch of the armed forces is going to train you so you can choose to join another branch as soon as you're done training.
