You are right. People have a problem with God's message. He tells us that we are sinners and many do not like to hear that. Some are willing to accept their sinfulness as true. The best part after that is that He offers forgiveness for our sins and salvation in heaven freely to those who believe.
First part is offensive to many; the second part is amazingly merciful.

I think Jesus had a lot of valuable things to teach. I believe that the Christian religion, like most others, can lead people to be their personal best.

I have a problem with people who judge me or try to change me just because I don't believe that Jesus is the son of God (any more than any other person, because the God of my beliefs has a hand in everything and everyone).

Live and let live, that's what I believe. When people come in with their minds already made up about me and my beliefs, then I have a problem. If people don't allow me the same respect for my beliefs that I show them, then I have a problem.

That's a matter of respect and has nothing to do with the deity of one's choice (or no deity at all). Just for edification, I have a definite problem with pagans, agnostics, buddhists, Jews, Muslims, etc. that do not show enough respect to allow others to live their beliefs without interference and judgement.

Namaste.

Atheists by nature could not have a problem with your god, jesus, or any other god. Since atheists don't believe in those gods.
But on the same note since christians do believe - Is your problem with the aethists or the god you think created them. Atheists were made in god's image too right? So isn't any problem you have with them a problem you have with your own god? Boy is he going to be steamed at you.

Ahh, yes...but you are seeing it through Christian eyes, aren't you?
And it is Christians, for the most part, that tell a rebellious world what God says...so, it is Christians who take the heat.
But didn't Jesus warn us that it would be so?
Don't let it worry you, whether their "beef" is with what God says, or whether it is with you personally.
Just obey Christ, and all will be well in the end.
Yes?

Great point. Some people think that we magically invented all the rules and theology of Scripture and that simply isnt the case. Their true problem is with God because that is where it all originates from. That is why Paul calls them God-haters.
