Find a version of the bible that you can understand. For myself, the King James is very difficult to understand. The bible I use for studies is the NIV. It is merely translated into more modern language.

God can show you what He wants you to know. He is the only who reveals His truth through His word. If you ask Him, He will show you.

I used to not even read the Bible because I did not understand the words in the Bible. It didn't give me much joy. But I have since been reading so much about my Lord that I understand anything I read, which is good and saying a lot for me. I will tell you to get this Bible at the book store because it is an absolute blessing to have and you can study it, while using your King James version of the Bible or better yet, I believe is the "The Living Bible"Paraphrased. That other book that I told you about is this one..."Spirit Filled Life Bible for Students" This Bible breaks everything down and simplifies it so that you can understand the word of the Lord. It is very much the worth the money to spend on this book. And the more one reads the Bible, the more God's holy spirit will open the door so that nothing will be hidden from you in the Bible. Jesus Christ is a complicated God, But his words are his words and he will make it so that you can understand his words. This will all come to you and everything that you read in the Bible will never be a mystery unless of course God is not ready to reveal some things to us. I hope this helps you a bit. God Bless You and remember to always fight the good fight.

First you must understand what the Bible is. It is not a single story writen by one person. It is a compilation of ancient works. It does not include everything that was written. There are many, many other works that were specifically excluded from the Bible. (see Lost Books of the Bible link below). The reason for this is that the original Bible is the canon of the Roman Catholic Church. "Canon" means the laws or code or belief system or truths of that particular religion. Which books were to be included was decided by select church officials who are claimed to be inspired by God.

There have been several revisions of the Bible as the Church has seen fit. There are also many other versions of the Bible that represent the canon of whatever specific religion was establishing its own beliefs.

You should also understand that the Bible is a belief system. It is not a history book per se. It is a declaration of the belief system of a particular religion. The first Christian religion was the Roman Catholic Church. It's canon (the original Bible) was not compiled for some 500 years after Christ died. The Pope and other leaders decided to make a compilation of anciet works that represent their canon. Some books and writing made it some did not.

All other versions of the Bible came from this one. So, in a way you would want to read the original version of the original Catholic Bible yet, it would still only be a collection of the specific works that represent what the Catholic Church says they were inspired by God to include.

So you see, there is an original version but version of what? Of the canon of the Catholic Church. It has subsequently been modified by that same Church. It has been further modified by other Christian religions to define their particular canon or belief system.

You see, it is all based on faith. Either you believe your particular religion is correct solely on faith or you don't. It is what makes religion, religion instead of science. If we knew everything for an absolute fact you would be studing the Bible in science class. But it is not that simple. You are required to accept a lot on pure faith.

It is this way for a reason. That reason known only to the Creator.

The closest you are going to get is the Hebrew scriptures - the Tanakh. The Torah refers to the first five books of the Tanakh. Depsite the accusations, Hebrew has remained relatively unchanged over it's lifespan and the scriptures written in this language are carefully and painstakingly copied from era to era.

This is done because it is believed that Hebrew is the Divine language and the Tanakh is a manifestation of G-d. So that we may know him and follow him in all ways of our life. To not care how it is copied or transmitted is to directly disrespect G-d.

The JPS has the most accurate Hebrew-English translation available now.

Other versions do not boast the same accuracy. The Septuagint, which was a bulk of Paul's writings and later early Christian bible translations, was the Greek translation of the Tanakh. It is full of many errors, and mistranslations which adds to confusion in later centuries.

All creation speaks of His love for you, a crystallized rain drop or snow flake, and the dancing of the stars to the song of the spheres. Look to the undulating jelly fish, and to the symmetry of the starfish. Look to the heart of a child, and to the well worn hands of your grandmother. All hum in harmony with the other. OM

I think the original is in the Accassic records. Tibet claims to have had some, but, the Chinese may have taken and destroyed them, I don't know now.

You may have to look in the Exhaustive Concordance. The trouble is, there are many words that mean many things. For instance "of" and "to" may come from the same word in Greek. It is so hard to know. You just have to pick out which fits more accurately for you. It is a Living Word, so, if you read it a year from now, you may get something else then.

You can't take any book with you when you go.

The most oldest and therefore the most correct is the King James Version Bible. All other versions after it have had some kind of translation on it that has taken away the original messages that were intended to be in there.

The Catholics add books to the Bible, so a (New)King James Bible is about the most old fashioned. Nothing added, just the pure original (well, translated of course, but no added anything)

This is wonderful good news and I praise God for your sincerity. I have read many different translations. I love the King James the best and I dislike the New King James the most. I would recommend the Living Translation for you. Read the Book of John first.

May the Lord protect and guide you in Jesus name I pray, amen.
