How did you overcome it and how did it change your essence?

The problem that has caused the greatest growth and fueled my life is the sexual assault, and the physical, mental, and emotional abuse I suffered as a child, and young woman.
I overcame it through my spirituality, as God kept my heart untouched and helped me grow past the voids, the pain, and the trauma it left upon me.
It has changed my essence in life as I overcame without having let it keep me down, and in doing so the way they had wanted to hurt me lost its effectiveness and therefore, they lost..I am not dysfunctional, I have forgiven my perpetrators, I help others who have suffered the same traumas through YA and other help centers. I can be a living testament to the love of God and the will of the human spirit. I emerged from this cocoon alittle tattered, but my wings are in working order and are completely beautiful.
Blessings and love,
Sassy

Getting a second divorce. It destroyed my life. My life was not in pieces, it was fine powder. It was as if I had stepped on a land mine and my body had been blown to pieces.

That was about seven years ago. God has restored my life. I did not overcome it, I just kept getting up in the morning and surrendering myself to Him and learning about Him and His word. He is the one who put it all back together. It has made me grateful for God's mercy, and compassionate towards others.

DIVORCE!!!!! - the realization that you are alone since birth and it does not improve in the grave. Trying to pretend you BELONG is a waste of time, find the strength in your own self and become reliant upon our own strengths, while developing your weaknesses into magnificent things.
