Well Im a Christion but let me take a swing at this. Now being religous means having faith. Atheist admit that they have no faith, but this is wrong, very wrong. Now faith is believing in something that you did not witness first hand but still believe in. So where were the Atheist when bacteria soup from a storming comet somehow managed to survive atmospheric pressure to turn into a fish then some sort of primate then into man. Or where were they when life happened out of non-living matter. Huh? Well they call us crazy for having faith but they too have faith.

Good question. It doesn't seem to make sense for people who are opposed to religion and spirituality to seek out this particular topic. Perhaps, in some way, it is an acknowledgement that their beliefs ARE religious/spiritual in nature.

As I've been exploring this category, I've noticed that a lot of atheists choose to respond to questions about God and in those responses, them make it clear that they don't believe he exists. Why do they feel the need to do this? Isn't this the same thing as a Christian visiting a site about witchcraft in order to "save" people from evil by posting messages aboout God. (BTW, I wouldn't know if they do this because I wouldn't visit a discussion about witchcraft...but it makes sense that some Christians might)!

Many Christians feel driven by the words of the bible to share their faith with others...what drives an athiest to share his or her faith with people who don't share their belief?

The only reasonable (logical/thoughtful) reason I can think for someone that prides themselves on their rational decision to reject the notion of God is a desire to prevent some of the atrocities committed in the name of religion throughout history (e.g., the Crusades)...but if that's the case, then why don't they limit their responses to messages that advocate that type of religious expression? Standing up against messages about topics that can affect their life is certainly rational...but why does an atheist care if I believe in God? Clearly something else is going on here...could it be that they find it entertaining to ridicule others or could it be that they aren't as convinced as they think they are? And then again, it could all be part of God's plan.

They just like to pick fights, they don't care about the answers. They keep posting the same things on and on to keep everyone riled, then they gather together to rate every answer about God and Jesus with a thumbs down. Basically they are here to (pardon the pun) keep the fires going.

Some people keep talking about religion in the RELIGION section. How dare they! I believe we're supposed to talk about religion in the "Health > Diseases and Conditions" section.

Are you kidding? I can't post a question anywhere about how to change a tranny in a '57 Ford without somebody referring me to Luke 7.8 KJV

For deist religions, it seems like the most basic questions should be about god's existence. Belief or unbelief seems to follow from that.

Because when they ask questions about religion in the cat section, they are asked to leave.

Is there another section where they should discuss religion?

why are we here? that is a question humans in all societies are curious about... while many theists are content to look to a divine creator, or a sacred book for the answers, most atheist look to science and non-theistic phlosophy....
