What's the average amount a couple would spend on an engagement ring, the women's wedding band, and the men's wedding band? Please give separate amounts, thank you :)

The typical saying is 2 months salary.
Wedding bands are the same way. Some people just want a band to compliment their diamond. Others want to add more bling. $100-5000+.
Men's rings are always the cheapest.(Unless they want diamonds) Avg 700?
Just please--do your homework--and stay out of the mall jewelry stores. You want to pick your individual diamond.

Since one can get rings from $30 to hundreds of thousands of dollars, an average doesn't help you....
Here's about what ours were:
engagement ring - 700 - solitaire with two shoulder stones, 14k yellow gold
wedding band - 400 - matched engagement ring, with three of the smaller stones
(My husband chose the above!)
man's wedding band - 350 - plain gold band
It's MOST important for the guy to choose something which he can comfortably afford - there are totally beautiful rings for $100 and up! Size does NOT matter, it's better to have a nicer small diamond than a big flawed one.

My engagement ring cost about a thousand, and my wedding ring was about one hundred. My husband's ring cost a couple hundred because it was bigger and a thicker band than mine. Don't spend too much and get into debt. Its not the ring thats important really, but the meaning behind it.

Engagement ring: no more than you will spend without taking out a loan or going into debt.
Wedding bands: My fiance and I are budgeting for $1000 TOTAL for both bands.

My husband's ring was around $500.
My ring set was around $1000.
Please note that we did not get our "expensive" rings until we celebrated our 7th anniversary. Prior to that we wore plain gold bands that cost $100 each.

Mine was from Lundstrom and it was $600-$800 I think (very beautiful) and his comfort fit 6mm band from Lundstrom also was $450. In 2000.
