It seems to me that someone is confused....
If Mormons are Christian then why did leaders of Mormonism distance themselves from traditional Christianity? Here's what a couple of them have said:
Brigham Young said that the "Christian God is the Mormon's Devil..." (Journal of Discourses, Volume 5, page 331).
John Taylor said that Christianity was "hatched in hell" (Journal of Discourses, Volume 6, page 176) and "a perfect pack of nonsense...the Devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work..." (Journal of Discourses, Volume 6, page 167).
Bruce R. McConkie said, "What is the church of the devil in our day, and where is the seat of her power?.... It is all of the systems, both Christian and non-Christian, that perverted the pure and perfect gospel.... It is communism; it is Islam; it is Buddhism; it is modern Christianity in all its parts. It is Germany under Hitler, Russia under Stalin, and Italy under Mussolini." (The Millennial Messiah, pp. 54-55.)

The word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible but the concept and the teaching is.
>> I believe that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God (not the Father but the Son) as stated in the Bible, I believe he is our Savior and Redeemer and he is the only way to the Father (all Mormons believe this as it is the core of the LDS Church). We believe that the Bible is the word of God as far as it is translated correctly (if you know the history of the Bible and the number of version you would understand this statement). We do not worship Joseph Smith. Yes, we do believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers as all spirits created by God and brothers and sisters and he is our Father. As stated in Revelations 12 Satan and his angels were cast out of Heaven down to earth. So other angels also choose the darkness over our Father in Heaven. <<
She claims Jesus is the only begotton son then claims that Jesus and Satan are brothers.
You can't have it both ways.
Jesus is either God's only Son or He has a brother.
It sounds like you believe a hodgepodge of Christian and Mormon beliefs.
By the way I know the history of Bible translation a lot better than you or Joseph Smith does.
I also know that Joseph Smith was a man with many wives including at least one teenager he married without her Daddy's permission. We call that a rapist.
The LDS church is a group founded by a man who was not content with God's rule which says one to a customer, speaking of wives. This makes the LDS group a sex cult.
The person who asked the original question is correct.

I've studied every religion I can get my hands on, and I have NEVER found anything "cult like" about mormonism. Not now or in the past. Considering that they believe in christ and tell all the same stories and read the bible the same as all other christians, I don't see why they are not christ. This is something I hear from alot of people, but no one has ever been able to tell me what Mormons actually believe, why they aren't christians, and why they are a "cult".

Traditional Christianity i.e. the Roman Catholic Church doesn't consider anyone a Christian who has not accepted the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit as 1 nature in 3 distinct persons. Therefore mormon baptism is considered invalid. Although there shouldn't be animosity, people are people and do get worked up over theological stuff.

It depends on your definition of Christian. Some say you have to believe in the Trinity (which is not mentioned anywhere int he Bible), some say you just have to believe Jesus is our savior and follow him.
I believe that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God (not the Father but the Son) as stated in the Bible, I believe he is our Savior and Redeemer and he is the only way to the Father (all Mormons believe this as it is the core of the LDS Church). As stated in Revelations 12 Satan and his angels were cast out of Heaven down to earth. So other angels also choose the darkness over our Father in Heaven.
That said being Christian is based on your definition of Christian, not everyone agrees on this definition.

Ok- from a Mormon perspective: they're talking about the great & abominable church of the devil- remember the devil will tell a thousand truths to tell one lie- these churches have differing versions of the one religion, yes? they all say something different... do this, do that, don't do this, don't do that... even contradicting themselves... and so the devil has been very subtle in leading astray the children of God using eternal truths, misunderstandings and mis-translations & evil men changing the true doctrines of the bible for their own ends- think medieval times when the public couldn't read & the church dictated to the masses whatever they wanted so they could stay in control. Make sense? Of course we want to distance ourselves- our church is based on revelation from God and not a man-made manufactured gospel. (whatever others might think)

Probably because the Mormons demoted Jesus to being a "spirit brother" of Satan instead of the eternal unique Son of God. Then they teach that if you live a good enough life you will be "like God" in the next one. Talk about teaching that comes from the Devil, sheesh!
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

The Mormons, Seventh Day Adventist and Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian.
They do not accept the gospel of Jesus Christ.
By accepting the gospel(good news) they are agreeing to the fact that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is not the only way according to those three religions, just like Islam and Judaism, therefore they are not Christians.

Because Christian sects are very bad about thinking there is only "One Right Way." Anything that does not completely agree with their world view is evil. This is applied with other Chrisitian sects as much as pagan ones.

Mormons are not Christians. They are a quasi-christian cult. They do not believe that Jesus Christ is the second person of the Blessed Trinity. They don't even believe in the Trinity. Therefore they are not Christian.
