The ps3 is worth it
here's some of the great things about the playstation 3

-Ps3 can browse online
-ps3 comes with built in wifi ~ xbox 360 or 360 elite don't
-Ps3 has a 60 GB interchangeable hard drive, meaning you can change your hard drive with any brand of hard drive 360 or 360 elite don't.
-ps3 online is free ~ xbox live isn't
-Playstation home is an interactive community of ps3 users where you can play games or meet up with friends and hang out at your virtual home and hang outs, as well as stream live media(releasing in october, and is FREE)
-Ps3 can get Linux and other OS's installed ~ xbox 360 cant
-ps3 comes with a next generation disc format (blu ray-50 gigs, xbox 360 and 360 elite are only compatable with 7 GB DVDs for games, and if you're willing to pay an extra $200 you can watch ONLY movies on hd dvd, which can only hold 30 GB)
-ps3 has HDMI 1.3, 360 elite only has hdmi 1.2
-ps3 has the Cell Broadband processor which consists of 8 simutaniously working cpu's capable of processing 2 trillion calculations per second(2 TFLOPS)
-ps3 has the best graphics with the NVIDIA RSX Graphics Processor
-Ps3 is only $500, 360 elite costs 500 and lacks wifi, a next gen disc format, and still has that huge power brick)

Tons of ps3 games are being released this year. Over 40 of them are exclusive for just and only ps3, and over 200 shared titles.

Oh, and by the way, blu ray is needed, a regular dvd (which xbox 360 elite uses) can only hold up to 9 GB, whereas the ps3 has blu ray (which holds 50 GB) which means, the ps3 has much more space to hold graphic games, such as Resistance Fal of Man, it took 16 GB, that's almost twice the space on a regular DVD, for Resistance, which graphics aren't that great compared to games to come. Also, the DEMO for Uncharted Drakes Fortune doesn't even fit on a DVD. Games WILL need more space. Blu ray IS needed.

And now...a PS3 owner.

Game selection: It is true that there are not a lot of games for the PS3 at the moment. Reason: because game makers are still learning the true power of the console. When you have had limitations on your creativity for so long(360: 6gb of info per disc, Nintendo even less), it takes time to learn to create on a bigger scale. Say you are in school, and for the past 2 years you have had to draw on a piece of plain notebook paper. All of a sudden the art teacher tells you that can use the football field and create whatever you want. Let your imagination run wild. You now have what you need to make a masterpiece. Just like game makers now have what they need to make masterpieces. The games that are being released, even the non-exclusive games, are going to fall on a scale of 1 to 10. PS3: 10...Other consoles: no higher than 7. Lets see where things stand in a year. Microsoft will still be paying millions to fix an inferior product and Nintendo will still be catering to 10 year olds.

Blue-ray: Who doesn't want a blue-ray player? Usually the people that can't afford one. Blue-ray is, in my opininon, the next standard in video format. Even Blockbuster has stopped carrying HD-DVD. When there is something twice as better on the market, why would people not buy it? I have a hi-def television and there was never a question whether I was going to invest in Blue-ray. Spending money on a 1080p t.v. would have made no sense if I wasn't going to get a player that could output 1080p. And it is built-in to the PS3.

Freezing up: My PS3 has never frozen up on me. It has never overheated, it has never slowed down. I have had zero problems with my system.

Motion controller: The only selling point for the Wii is the Wii-mote. Well the PS3 has the six-axis. Now I owned a Wii for about a week and I was not impressed. After the novelty wore off(in about an hour), I was through. In my experience, the six-axis is more responsive.

Cost: Of course the PS3 is going to be more expensive. It is more powerful, better built, better features, free on-line play. But they are all expensive. It boils down to what a person can afford. And hearing all of the talk about it being too expensive just leads me to believe that it would win the console war hands down if cost wasn't an issue. Unfortunately it is, so people are buying the system that is the cheapest. Which happens to be? Anyone? The Nintendo Wii.

I suggest you do a side-by-side comparison of the three. I did it and I found that the 360 and the Wii didn't come close to the PS3. Well why did I get the Wii you ask? Because I didn't want to spend the money on the PS3. Now I know that it is worth every cent.

I own a Playstation 3 and I am a retailer and I sell them and the game, accessories. You can see the full Playstation 3 catalog on my website at http://www.cheatfusion.net/newplaystatio...
My price is $599.82 plus tax

Yes the Playstaion 3 is pricey but it is the cheapest blu Ray Player. If you go on www.bluray.com you can see the prices of the other blu ray players. The Blu Ray technology in the Playstation 3 is the best because of the Best graphics in games that you will ever see. The reason the games are so much is because the game are made with Blu Ray. The Playstaion 3 will play most Playstaion 2 games and some Playstaion 1 games. It is really intended for the newer PS2 games and Playstation 3 games, Blu Ray Movies. The Playstaion 3 is not guaranteed to play all Playstaion 2 game and Playstation 1 games because the older PS1 games have different formats for each game and that is hard to put in one system.

If you already have a PS2 or Xbox (Original), then stick with them. Trust me brotha you will not need an Xbox 360 or PS3 until maybe next summer or 2010. Most of the games on the next gen consoles are all hype and suck really bad. One of the reasons why is that the game producers are still struggling to grasp the complexity of the new machines. Be patient and don't give into the hype. Both Madden and NCAA will come out on the current gen if you like football and they will be 10 times better than the next gen ones in terms of gameplay and little things.

I personally think that nobody should ever pay more than 200 bucks for a video game console. No matter how powerful they are.

The PS3, I think, is really not worth the money. The only good thing I see about the PS3 is the blu-ray dvd player, because it is cheaper than other actual blu-ray players. PS3 does freeze sometimes as I've noticed. It also doesn't have many good games out right now and I haven't heard of too many promising titles that are going to come out in the future. There are some...but not many. If you're thinking about buying a console, you should think about getting an xbox 360 or a Wii. 360 has some pretty good games out already and there's halo 3 which is coming out soon. the wii is great too. hope i helped.

I don't honestly have a playstation 3 but from the reviews and games selection the X Box 360 has way better games and selection compared to the Playstation 3. The only best thing of the Playstation 3 is the included Blue Ray CD Drive which allows you to watch movies in high defintion. For me I would not put out $499.00 dollar just for a video game machine that the games are not up to anything truly breath taking in terms of graphics. Until Sony releases better games then I would recommend waiting.

i haven't had any problems with my ps3 and i don't regret paying 600 bucks for it!!! i think it worth it and now it a better deal to get a ps3 you save 200 bucks if you think about it 100 off the console and some places are offering 5 blue rays movie free (normally cost about 30 buck a movie) do the math...it worth playing and it feature are of course the blue ray the wifi, wireless controller, internet, and of course bluetooth headset! there free online and lot more to come during the holiday such as home a free addition to the ps3 online!!!

You're assuming the heat gun and paste will fix your Yellow Light problem, which might not be the case. A faulty power supply unit will cause a Yellow Light as well. In that case, you would need a multimeter to test the voltage. I guess you won't really know until you open it up, though. Once you do open it up, you are throwing away any chance of Sony fixing it for you. Just sayin'.

it sure is worth it.
games wise at present the 360 has an obvious edge, but the PS3 is just starting.
games developers are just getting to grips with what it can do, whereas the 360 is similar to a PC
