I grew up believing in the phrase, "Actions speak louder than words," also, "Lead by example."
I have met not even a handful of Christians who behave in a manner that would make me want to be a Christian.
Maybe the churches should teach these phrases more often.

An army? What did Jesus tell Peter when he cut off the ear of the high priest's slave?
The answer is love not hate. Peace not war. If you have love in your heart, the love of God, then you have the peace that passes all understanding.
Jesus never fought anyone into believing. Jesus never scared anyone into believing. Jesus never threatened anyone into believing. Why should we?
Christian warriors are Jihadists.

I am saved and a Christian and I agree with the basis of your idea. We do need to stand up for Christ more often and be counted for. However, I always find the best way to let people know about Christ and His greatness is to live my life like a Christian and tell people what a change He has made in my life, rather than to try and force feed them a belief. Thank you for standing up as a Christian and making a difference. We need more like you. God Bless you and have a great day!

You should talk to this old Spanish guy, what was his name ?
Oh, yeah, Torquemada, he'll set you straight on the spit-roasting for Jesus procedures. Of course, his direct successor as head of the 'Holy Inquistion' is the current incumbent of St. Peter's Throne, his ***-holiness, and free-style Nazi, Pope Hypocrite the last but one.
Sorry folks, but I ran out of all patience for the Holy See after they murdered poor old J-P I.

Why don't you just leave people the heck alone? Not everyone believes the way you do. I don't need to take jesus into my heart. I'm a little to old to believe in fairy tales. Just leave those alone that don't believe in your imaginary friend in the sky!!!

Jesus did not try to convince a whole bunch of people. He DISCIPLED a small group. Go and do the same.
BTW - Discipling is hard work, but that's what we are called to do.

Matthew 23:15
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
Hey I didn't right the book, I just believe it.
