Now after knowing that these movies take our Gods name in vain would you still pay to see them? Christians should take a stand on seeing movies like this!

Nope, I've given up TV and movies pretty much. After I became Christian, I questioned everything I did, and if you do something that's not for God, it's against God (because it's for yourself). So, instead of watching TV and movies, I spend that time reading Christian books and the Bible.

No Have no desire to see any of that stuff. If a movie wont glorify God and HIs goodness, then no thanks. God tells us not to do sin and things like that, but also tells us not to see it either. And God tells us to focus on good things, pure things, that lead to Him. Graphic violence, cussing, sexual sinx, all of tht are not what any of us need, jsut leads to more sin and rebellion against God.
Why not bring back some of the old movies that showed the goodness of ppl, how they helped one another, etc. Those glorified God and usually talked about God in the movie a lot. There is an audicne, tho Holly wood will say there isnt. First off, even if their wasnt, so what/ They will answer for the filth they make and all the pppl they lead into every degrading sin there is. So even if only one watched it, so what, Keep it up till more would come. But, fact is there are ppl who miss this and hugner for it. We rarely go the movies any more or watch tv because of it and believe me we arent alone, we hear it all the time. Even when they make a decent movie, many still wont go, for fear its really bad and they just didnt say so. We have gone to a few supposedly good movies only to be shocked and wished we handt gone, we get up and leave. Those hollywood ppl dont know if they produced only good movies, all us ppl that love the Lord and have morals and values and ethics would go back. But, when they produce such filth, we arent going. They think they make more like it is , but they are wrong Millionsof us would gladly go back if they made the nice movies and with good acting too and star quality. So often, a decent movie is made so slow and with poor actors, what do you think , ? You think many will tell others to go see it? NO. Make star quality movies with Christians themes, morals and pricnipals and ethics that bring joy to others and show us how clean living can not only be done, but more enjoyed than the worldly ppl and how they live. God never asks any of us to give up things that are good for us, only the things that lead to destruction, sorrow and pain, and lead to hell.
Love your question as usual. same with the movie, evan almighty, some say that is a decnet film, but not from all we are hearing. what you call decent and waht true Christians call decent are too different hings.. amen
WHen a movie tells somethng that is different from what God says, that does not bless God or the views, jsut cuz if has to violence or sex in it.
Come on Hollywood, you did it years ago and you can do it again. I see that Alec Baldwin is not echoying this same sentiments. Go ALec. Go alec. it can be done.

Yep, do you realise kids movies even use the Lord's name in vain Oh My G-- is ever so popular...

I like your effort, but boycotting them is not gonna help alot, for just the fact that they take the Lord's name in vain somebody should have been more active when they first started doing I don't think screen writers are intelligent enough to come up with new ways of conveying peoples utter terror anymore....

I was planning on seeing Die Hard four. I think that to do justice in this situation we should write to them, the power of the pen...

Well, I would not buy Transformers as it was not good enough for me and some of the situations were not appropriate. I plan on seeing Live Free for a .25 when it goes to the dollar movie.

I do my best to try not to use those phrases. I believe taking the Lord's name in vain is when a Christian acts like a person in the world. You call them hypocrites.

It is hard to know about a movies content in advance. We are lucky to get a rating on nudity and mature content. If we took it to your extreme it would be funny to see how many "wholesome" movies got the Axe.

No I would not endorse such movies. I hate movies with cursing period. The same point can be made without that filth but to take the Lord's name in vain is blasphemy.

I feel the same about satanic movies and Harry Potter. We are not trash cans to put this garbage into but children of God.

I appreciate your standing up for what is right in today's society. God bless you.

Probably so. Whenever I hear anyone take the Lord's name in vain it's like I'm getting punched in the stomach. My insides flinch. I do not like to see horror movies and movies with immoral subject matter and lots of bad language. I hate to hear GD and JC in vain, but strangely enough, I am not affected the same when I hear OMG or GL. It shouldn't matter; I guess they're just more common. I might change my mind on this at some point, but right now, yes, I would see them if they said GL or OMG. You made a good point, though.

PS I'm one of those people who has a problem with Harry Potter. Don't know about Pokemon yet. Don't like Dragon Tales and lots of other stuff.

It can be called Moonwalker and was launched in 1988. Tag line: 'a film like no other.' "The plot of Moonwalker right concerns itself with a non-specified future world where we follow three children dwelling in a dirty world of squalor. As successful squad makes an try on the lifetime of Jackson, who is enjoying himself, we get a flashback to happier times that ends in a bizarre explanation of why the arena we see is now so soiled." it's kind of of a strange movie, and once I believe about what Michael Jackson is like now, and the accusations towards him, it scares me to consider that he spent a lot time with two small children back then, even though, he nonetheless wasn't far more than a baby himself.

Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so. And forgives me- no matter what.
And I believe that you can take things just a bit too far over the line into being a zealot!
If I hear the Lord's name in any of it's forms and no matter the context I say a quick "thank you for today" and that is it.
And yes, I may see one or two of those movies.

Yes, words are just words. If you lived in England, you might be offended by the word bloody, so it is not the word but just how the person hearing it chooses to react to it.
I don't usually swear, because it stamps me as rather crude, with a small vocabulary, but in truth, words themselves are harmless. Everyone should be mature enough to view any movie and listen to any language without letting their "buttons" be pushed unnecessarily.

Thank you for the list of recommended movies. You have just made sure that a lot more people will be going out to see them. Thanks again from all of us.

if you are a true Christian, you would focus on the important things, like being a good person, feeding the poor, helping those in need, speaking out against bigotry and racism, helping to end a war that sends off our boys and girls to go get killed for no reason - to name a few things you could better spend your time on! Christians should take a stand on the things I mentioned - not stupid inconsequential things like cuss words in movies. And let me just say that Sicko and Knocked Up are excellent movies.
