Humans are the only species on the whole of the planet that believe that our lives need to mean something. Everything else with life in it is content to just be. As an Atheist, I believe that the purpose of my life is to somehow further mankind for the future generations, no matter how minute that offering may be.

I don't believe life has a purpose. I believe I was conceived and born. Now I have to live. That is all.
But while I am here, I might as well enjoy the ride.

I doubt it has any purpose other than what we choose. We humans just do not know a lot yet so we really have no idea what might be going on yet. Hopefully a few people can stay focused on acquiring knowledge.... I doubt we will ever find an overall purpose though. Life is absurd just don't let that get you down.

The purpose of life would be to find God.
Just because you don't believe in a God, does not mean that you won't believe in a God, besides if God is 'nothing', the word, the alpha and the omega, then atheists who believe in nothing, believe in God.
Besides better a good+atheist than a bad-christian.

I don't believe in the purpose of life. I'm not convinced life has purpose. For me, it seems more that it just... is.
