Yes, there is. Many people are carriers of the virus, but they will eventually become infected with AIDS. There have, however, been a few cases where people were carriers, but never developed AIDS. This is a rare phenomenon that is related to T-cells, but I'm not sure if they've figured out why.

Hi, there.

I think what you are referring to is a "carrier" in the sense that they carry the virus, but are not "infected" so to speak. And no, this is not possible.

Anyone who has HIV living inside of them is HIV+ and has HIV disease and can transmit the virus to other people.

You may be also be thinking of a reservoir host? For example an insect, mammal, or other organism where HIV lives normally in them and is only pathogenic/disease causing in humans......HIV is the HUMAN immunodeficiency virus. It can only infect humans.

Hope this helps.

well anyone who has the virus and has not shown systems (it can sometimes take 10 years!) is a carrier. That is what makes the darn thing so dangerous. That is 10 years of sleeping with people and spreading the disease. Use protection, get tested!

Yes. You can carry the disease for many years with no symptoms.
