matthew 3:15 says,
[New International Version]- Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.

[The message]- But Jesus insisted. "Do it. God's work, putting things right all these centuries, is coming together right now in this baptism." So John did it.

i think that Jesus recieved the worlds sin when he was baptized.

When Jesus went to the cross, he became the sacrificial lamb to die for the world's sins. He was the only one able to accomplish this because he was sinless. By his dying on the cross, we are given a chance at eternal life through salvation that was lost after Adam and Eve brought sin into the Garden of Eden.

At the moment He cried, "Father, why have you forsaken me?" God cannot look upon sin. At that moment in time, the relationship was severed between the Father and the Son, as the sins of the world settled on the shoulders of Jesus Christ.
