You would be better served doing a search on gun laws in NJ. Also, if you are living in a military barrack or in military housing, it will not matter if you have a liscense as keeping guns on base is usually not allowed. Talk to your CO to find out the base and any military law that applies.

You're asking the wrong question.

You need to find out what the military has to say about it. I can envision your Chain of Command saying "license be damned, you are NOT to carry a weapon off-duty". They tend to like to stay out of the newspapers.

Talk to your CO and if they don't mind, talk to JAG to find out if it's possible.
