All of this hooplah about being saved and having a righteous eternal life in heaven with god. I can't believe people actually find it appealing. I mean sure, I would like to live for a few thousand years but not eternaly. I'm pretty sure that evetually I would run out of ideas and things to do. After doing stuff over and over, it would get pretty boring and I think I would be at peace with doing everything I ever wanted to do and ready to die. Plus, it says in the Bible that you will not know anything of your formal life, including the people and pets that you loved. So what's the point of eternal life if you can't spend it with those you love. And don't give me any of that oh well God should be the only one you need to love BS.

Oh yeah. There won't be any beer in heaven either. What's up with that man?

Hey lesbi-friends, I reccomend a book called The God Delusion. You should read it sometime, it could change your brain processes for the better.

Exactly why I'd rather rule in Hell than kiss *** for all eternity!

If you are going to have eternity and you can't change that because you cannot change one minute of time then how or why would you even think of not living eternally where you will not be bored and will be happy instead of sad. There are two thoughts. Either you will live forever or you just die and are gone. I have been to the land of non-existence in a meditation.
It was not hell fire. It was just nothingness but you are aware. Stuck just existing and dark and you cannot leave but you don't want to be there. So choose what you would like.
Your spirit as we are told does not die. God is eternal and you are too because his spark is who you are. You are eternal.
You don't die but you go again to another life. You will not be sitting around playing a harp or sitting brainless by some river in a garden waiting for your next meal. You will be either visiting some planet or dimension for the experience and gathering information. Possible helping others on this side as a guide or going to a school in heaven. All possible.
You will be able to remember lifetimes because they are all written in your book of records that you will and may review when you return to your heavenly zone.
You don't come to a life in this dimension and remember your past unless you choose to seek the past through regression.
The reason is that you will possible sabotage your mission.
It you knew how you were going to die for instance, you may prevent your final way out of this dimension and much is timing that can change things. Don't even think of taking your life ever. It is forever and you will review that day and time and as you did it forever.
Just a few things you won't find in the bible. Are they true.
Ahhhhhhh maybe. Maybe you will live forever and maybe you won't. Which is more fun to believe in and hope it happens.
I for one don't think this is BS. I hope for your sake you make the right choice, it may be forever and a day.

Well honestly i at times cant fathom the thought of living forever. This concept is more than our human minds to comprehend. But think about it like this; you say you would run out of things to do and you'll get bored. You say this because you are only used to earthly things and our minds are limited. God's mind is limitless and you don't know what God has in store for you after the first 1,000 or 2,000 years in heaven. We dont know what it is like in heaven. Plus the Bible says we will know one each other in heaven and be able to recognize loved ones. We will retain the same names. Some loved ones wont be in heaven. You may think now that you will miss them but they had a chance at salvation and did not utilize it while you did. Being in heaven should be all the more reason to rejoice and be happy. My last thought is this; you say you will be bored after some time. But think about this; God made sex and obviously this is something humans love doing. Dont you think God could make something even better than sex that gives you a sensation ten times greater than sex. Who knows? I guess we'll have to find out.

Everyone has eternal life, just different destinations. Both Heaven and Hell are places we cannot fully grasp since we have no reference point to compare them with. We cannot fully understand the wonder, the glory, the beauty of Heaven, nor the absolute horror of Hell. Personally, I can't wait to get to Heaven. To shed, once and for all, this earthly tent, this body of sin, this decaying flesh, and take on a new body, perfect in all aspects. To have my mind freed from all the pollution that has been ingrained in my mind from this world, and have a clean mind and spirit so that I may worship my Lord in pureness and utter devotion, without distraction. Those whom I love will be there, Christ and all my brothers and sisters in Christ from throughout the ages. Boring? You have no clue how unboring it will be.

I am reading a book called HEAVEN by Randy Alcorn. You can buy it at any Christian bookstore. I think you would enjoy learning what heaven will really be like. It will be a refashioned earth called the New Earth and will last forever. It will be an exciting place to live in! It will not be a ho hum boring kind of place.

Yes I think about it every day. I can't wait to get there. There will be complete peace with no worries at all, no sickness, no losing loved ones.
God has given us treasures in Heaven that are incomprehensible to us. And just being in the presence of our Lord would be the greatest joy!

the things that you will not know are the things of pain and hurt. The temptation of Satan to claim you soul will be no longer exist. The people that we know and others will be serving in the position our life had prepared us for. God is a great gift giver and has many great things in store for His children. Just to have an experience in this life of the presence of God is a small encounter to what is in store for those who believe in Him. I personally can not wait and do not fear going home.

Praise the Lord.

When we are in Heaven all will be perfect, so that means we wont get bored or anything. How that will work, well, you will just have to wait and find out :) And I don't know where you heard that, but yes we will know all the things that you did in this life, and the knowledge you gained. Your family and pets will be with you too.

I agree with you. Human life is tragically short and I believe that I would also like to live a much longer life. However, what you state is pretty factual as I would not want to live on for billions and billions of years. As someone who has said on this very message board "life is an inconvenient interruption to blissful non-existence", and I believe that an eternal life takes the pleasure out of what we have to experience right now, in this moment.

Amazingly small minded of you.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

What you have now, at the moment, is death compared to what God gives.

The way you describe it rather confirms it too.

It's admittedly rather a poor, feeble analogy, but I suppose it is rather like asking a blind man to describe a glorious sunset.

Still you shouldn't brag about your ignorance.

Funny how you haven't given it any thought at all.

No one knows for sure if there is eternal life and if there is no one knows for sure what it will be like. What would you like it to be like? That way if there is eternal life and you get to manifest it how you want, you will already have an idea. Eternal life for me would be best with souls that knew and loved me and I loved them in return. With that kind of company, eternity would not seem so bad.
