I can say that the true gods of hinduism is the people. I heard the news hinduism permits 33 million gods. How much is the population of india during the ancient time?

Your opinion is appreciated but could you give us some facts?

That the first mosque was in Lahore and that the birthplace of hinduism is in India means what?

The first Coca Cola was served in the US. The founder of THe Mormons lived in the US. Does that mean Coca Cola is produced by the Mormons?

The true gods of the whole world are the people, I can agree with that, it is not only true in India where 300 million of these gods are starving because the other 714 million all prefer to strive for a BMW instead of feeding the other gods.

The size of the population of India Madame or Sir, is a great subject for an academic debate. You first have to define the borders of India (not done yet). Then you must try to find methods to count the population at let us say 250 years interval. You want to start a new religion with that knowledge?

You heard that hinduism permits 33 million gods. You probably heard right, but the person who spoke to you was probably wrong. I have asked this question many many times while I lived in India. I started with: "Is it true that there are 3000 gods in the hinduist pantheon?". The answer was always that there are more than I asked. That led me to the conclusion that Indians are more interested in quantity than in quality, which explains the BMW as well.

If you really want to know what I think about hinduism: it is a cultural phenomenon that has grown into a chaos during many years. For somebody coming from a monotheistic background it is very confusing and there is a lot of lack of logic. The versatiliy and the conflicting explanations have led to a massive and continuous oppression of the majority of the people in India. In some rural parts of India (and Nepal) you can spot the Brahmin in any village: the fat guy with the big mouth. I thought it funny sometimes, the thin ones had another opinion I must say.

Have a very nice day.

The first mosque is in Saudi Arabia not India.

Hinduism is such a broad religion that you can not really say it is one thing. They have taken pretty much everything in! I think that Hinduism has lost itself as being a religion bc they have tried to take all the religions and now they really do not even have a solid foundation on who they are or what they believe. They worship idols which I personally think is very wrong. But that is "MY" opinion and yes I have friends that are Hindus, my landlords actually are!

Hinduism is the founder of Buddhism and I believe that Islam borrowed some things from Hinduism, but is quite a different religion. Personally, I love Hinduism, I think it is about the closest to a perfect spirituality as we'll see in the mundane world. I have personally adopted many of their practises and beliefs into my own spiritual path.

Hinduism and Islam are two vastly different religions - Islam is strictly monothestic, whereas Hinduism is a Polythestic faith. Although the birth of Hinduism could be India, the birthplace of Islam was Mecca.

umm...im not sure about Islam, i've never met any islamic people. But i think the religion of Hinduism is really nice, i respect it and the people are nice and great. Whether the religion is right or not, i don't care about the mindless religion dispute over which is true. As long as you believe in something - doesnt have to be religion, respect others beliefs, practice what you preach and you're good to others and yourself then i'm okay with it.

SSR 6 Finding Spiritual Solutions to Material Problems
Srila Prabhupada: This word Hindu is not a Sanskrit word. It was given by the Muhammadans. You know that there is a river, Indus, which in Sanskrit is called Sindhu. The Muhammadans pronounce s as h. Instead of Sindhu, they made it Hindu. So Hindu is a term that is not found in the Sanskrit dictionary, but it has come into use. But the real cultural institution is called varnasrama. There are four varnas (social divisions)--brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, and sudra--and four asramas (spiritual divisions)--brahmacarya, grhastha, vanaprastha, and sannyasa. According to the Vedic concept of life, unless people take to this system or institution of four varnas and four asramas, actually they do not become civilized human beings. One has to take this process of four divisions of social orders and four divisions of spiritual orders; that is called varnasrama. India's culture is based on this age-old Vedic system.

Actually there is no such word as "Hindu" in the Vedic literatures. The "Hindu" name was given by the Mohammedans with reference to the river Indus or Hindus, from Sindhu. So the Vedic culture is not for any sect of country, it is meant for the whole human society. In other words, Vedic culture is also known as Sanatana Dharma which means "eternal function of the eternal living entities." Krishna is eternal, and we all living entities, being parts and parcels of Krishna, are also eternal. And the reciprocal exchange of love between the two eternals is called "eternal occupational duty" or Sanatana Dharma.

Regarding your questions: Hindu means the culture of the Indians. India happens to be situated on the other side of the Indus River which is now in Pakistan which is spelled Indus--in Sanskrit it is called Sindhu. The sindhu was misspelled by the Europeans as Indus, and from Indus the word "Indian" has come. Similarly the Arabians used to pronounce sindus as Hindus. This Hindus is spoken as Hindus. It is neither a Sanskrit word nor is it found in the Vedic literatures. But the culture of the Indians or the Hindus is Vedic and beginning with the four varnas and four asramas. So these four varnas and four asramas are meant for really civilized human race. Therefore the conclusion is actually when a human being is civilized in the true sense of the term he follows the system of varna and asrama and then he can be called a "Hindu." Our Krsna Consciousness Movement is preaching these four varnas and four asramas, so naturally it has got some relationship with the Hindus. So Hindus can be understood from the cultural point of view, not religious point of view. Culture is never religion. Religion is a faith, and culture is educational or advancement of knowledge.

Which Hinduism? The one suffering at the immovable hands of stone/metal idols drinking milk with their lifeless mouths. It is disgracing the human intellect. It was a god revealed religion in the beginning but lost its validity whith the coming of Buddha.A religion which cannot establish your contact is not religion but a cult of no avail in achieving the capabilities to perform in the next world.Hindu belief revolves round reincarnation of soulswhere the possibility is there that father or grand father is sitting as a dog in the house before his offspring. What a detestable scenario?

I doubt it. Islam and Hinduism have little similarities in their doctrines. Islam's birthplace was in Mecca/Madinah depending on how you look at it, in present day Saudi Arabia, not India. Get a clue.

Mate Hisuism and Islam are opposite, complete opposite, in teachings, philosophy, theology and practice.

They are full of statues, gods, goddess, they describe God in 7 stages and so on...

What the hell are you talking about... the concept of Heaven in Hindu culture is also opposed to Islam and in Hindu culture never allow to kill anybody is justified under any... ANY circumstance at all cause no one has the right to kill the creation of God while Muslims even has a classification for non believers and are allowed even to kill a muslim that converts.

What the hell are you talking about man???
