My doctor switched me from percocet to vicodin because the percocet dosn't work for me anymore since I have been taking it for a while.

My question IS :: If my body dosn't feel the percocet anymore why would switching to vicodin be a idea? He said its two differen't chemicals and my body will feel the vicodin since I have never used it before.

Is this A true statement?

I thought that if i dont get help from the percocet, I will not get help from the vicodin.

Also, time realesed medication isn't for me since I dont need these medications for more then another month or so.

because your body has already built up a resistance to percocet, changing pain medications to one you have not used WILL solve the problem because the chemicals ARE differnt. this is also probably much safer than upping your dose of hydrocodone since things like depression of respiration ( you will stop breathing and die) can occur. so these statements are true.

the vicodin is not as strong as the percocet, it's true, however, if you have never taken it before, it may be enough to help you, you have no tolerance to it. So, the doctor was right about it being two different drugs, but, because it is the weaker of the two, you may not get as much relief, but, I would say that some relief is better than none. The only other drug you could take by mouth would be morphine. And trust me, you don't want to take that for a month because addiction is a very real possibility.

you will feel hydrocodone but be very dissapointed as oxycodone is much more powerful and has less bullshit with it. also oxycodone is better for your body. what a stupid stupid doctor you have. man i'm glad my doctor is so cool. i have lots of oxycodone. i have extra. man that sucks for you. damn.
