If mother dog doesn't nurse will her milk sacs like... blow up? Sort of like if you don't milk cows they die.

What is a good type of food for pups to eat if they don't need to be nursed anymore?

She will not die from it, her milk will just dry up and she'll become less and less attached to the puppies as time passes.

How old are the puppies? It depends on their age as to what they can and need to eat.

Since they have teeth it is time for them to be weened. This is perfectly natural. The mother's milk sacks wont blow up, they will dry up. They may get hard and sore though. You can help relieve this by putting warm wash cloths on them and giving her a baby aspirin (NOT TYLENOL it is dangerous and will kill animals) once a day. Be sure to give her baby aspirin about 81mg. You will probably have to put it in some food. What I done for my dog is I broke off a hot dog wiener and pushed it into the end I had broken off. She ate it no problem and giving it with food won't hurt her stomach.
As for dog food. Buy some canned puppy food. Be sure to dump it out in a plate big enough to spread around so they all can eat enough. Never let a dog eat out of a can the sharp edges can cut their noses and tongues which can lead to serious bleeding. Also do not give them cows milk. That can cause stomach irritation such as diarrhea.
Good Luck with Mom and Pups!

The mother will start knocking the pups away when she feels its time for them to stop nursing. If the pups are around 4-5 wks, then its time to introduce them to some good quality puppy chow. i mix mine in a blender with water to make a mash for the first few days, then start making it less wet as time goes on, by the end of a week to 2 weeks they should be just fine on the dry kibble. They wont eat it as fast as the wet, but will after a few days. Make sure they always have water to drink. The mothers milk will dry up, and she will be fine. Keep a eye on her teats though and watch for signs of mastitis, and to make sure they are shrinking back to normal.

If the pups are too young or of a miniture size you can grind puppy chow in the blender and add some puppy milk formula. As they start to eat the chow use less and less puppy milk formula until they finally just eat the chow without it being ground.

No; she won't blow up (and neither will a cow). She'll simply quit producing milk, just like a cow would, or a human female, for that matter. If the puppies are being weaned, they should be on a good-quality puppy food.

No, they don't blow up. They might swell and get hard but she'll live. And you might start setting out puppy chow for the little ones, maybe a mixture of wet and dry food.

puppy food - if they are eating solids. if not you need to get the milk replacement for puppies. you may still do that just to give them that extra fat and protein in addition to the solid food. but NO she wont die. they are like humans- if she stops nursing them, they will swell (her teets) and be tender for a while until the milk completely dries up.

if they are eating solids give them puppy chow and if not give them milk. goat's milk works better than regular milk but if you can't get any goat's milk just give them regular milk.
