Tiramisu is always a big hit:
This recipe was prepared by the famous Jeff Smith on The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian, broadcast initially on PBS and now re-running on a number of networks. This recipe makes 8 servings.

Ingredients: Filling

ESPRESSO, OR TRIPLE-STRENGTH COFFEE, 1/2 cup, room temperature
SUGAR, 1/2 cup
BRANDY, 1/4 cup
EGG YOLKS, 2
MASCARPONE CHEESE, 1 pound
LADY FINGERS, 1/2-pound package
SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE, 4 ounces shaved
Ingredients: Icing

WHIPPING CREAM, fresh, 1 cup
VANILLA, 1/4 teaspoon
POWDERED SUGAR, 2 tablespoons
Ingredients: Garnishes

COCOA POWDER, for dusting
SHAVED CHOCOLATE
Directions

Line the inside of a loaf pan with large sheet wax paper.
Stir espresso, sugar and brandy in mixing bowl until sugar dissolves. Reserve 1/3 cup.
Whisk egg yolks into this, and add the cheese. Whisk until smooth.
One at a time, soak ladyfingers in reserved coffee (don't oversoak). Place crosswise in pan, trimming if necessary to layer bottom completely..
Spread on half of cheese mixture, then half of shaved chocolate.
Repeat with ladyfingers, then remaining cheese, then rest of chocolate.
Cover with remaining ladyfingers.
Bring up flaps of wax paper, Wrap pan in plastic wrap and refrigerate 6 hours.
When serving, invert pan on serving platter, tapping bottom to remove "loaf." Remove paper.
Whip whipping cream, vanilla and powdered sugar together until stiff. Spread over the "loaf."
Dust with shaved chocolate.

what about a strawberry short cake triffle?? Or any other kind of triffle, chocolate and whipped cream and sponge cake. yummyyyy or what about angel food cake, with crushed pineapple and whipped cream as the filling. Yum-O.

It also depends on your ability lol How well do you know your way around a kitchen ya know? You can go from making your own cake to making your own canollis!!!!

Ohhh i have been wanting to try these for a while, get those little mini , tiny pie crusts that are like individual sizes. Make a chocolate pudding or some kind of pudding or custard and fill the pie crusts. Add a topping of shaved chocolate or something fancy and delicious!

My favorites are chocolate eclair dessert, strawberry angelfood dessert or no bake peanut butter pies. They are all really easy and require no baking. I like to do the Strawberry angelfood dessert in a trifle dish for better presentation. For another fun get together, I bake brownies and have all kinds of goodies and vanilla ice cream for everyone to make their own sundaes. I love dessert, can u tell?

Try a good Baked Alaska, not only does it have something for everyone in it, (cake AND ice cream) but it's usually served on fire for decoration. They can be made individually, or in a large cake size. It's basically like an ice cream cake that goes in the oven with a crispy meringue topping.

Here's a picture of one flaming, you don't actually need to set it on fire, but it is impressive for an added touch. All you really need to do is dip a few sugar cubes in alcohol, set them on the meringue, and light them, I made a Baked Alaska for my final in culinary school.

Get raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries and add 2 tablespoons of sugar and juice of one lemon and mix it gently in a bowl. Make whipped cream and get some crushed white cookies to serve on top of the berries in glasses
