i know all about condoms and birthcontrol, thank you. but they are not 100% effective. but constant sex does not a good relationship make. i lost my virginity at the age of 18. i was young and dumb. now i have seen the error of my ways and am making the necessary changes in my life to become a better person.

I'm going on 2 years...I left my husband, and have been celibate since then. I have more respect for myself now, than I did when I was married! Living with alcoholism has a tendency to doing that to you. It really doesn't mean much when their liquored up.

People look at celibacy in many different ways. Some people see it as a good thing, that they don't have to worry about sex becoming a huge part of a relationship. But some people can find it weird or awkward because when you are in celibate, and you're in a relationship the person may think that you don't care about them enough to have sex with them. The best advice I can give you is that if you are in a relationship with someone and they have a problem with you being celibate then they don't care enough about you and they don't respect your decision.

I think the better question here is...
"Why does it matter to people how long you have been celibate?"
Unless you're still hanging out with "the guys" - who still act and think like they're 15 (except for the beer) - then it really shouldn't matter if you're "not getting any"...
This doesn't matter if you're celibate by choice, or just unlucky with the girls/guys - how you choose to live your life is YOUR BUSINESS!
As for "dieases or unwanted pregnancies" - there are things such as Condoms that can prevent these...
But most importantly, if your life is better because of it - than NOBODY else has the right to say otherwise ;););)

well, if you're turly happy been celibate, I tip my cap to you. Come on, you should know that people are so obssese with sex that even kids in 6th grade are asking question about having sex. they even asking how to kiss, making out, etc.
Been celibate may your life better then you should keep it and be happy...

I am still a virgin and I am 20, I plan to wait until I am married. Good for you that you are able to wait. I do think that the American culture is obsessed with Sex its readily available on the tv, net, books, friends, and so forth.

Honestly i have sex all of the time. But what you need to remember is, it doesn't matter what people think. Only what you think. Becuase at the end of it all the only one who has to be happy, is you.
