(It is so simple. Abuse of the "report abuse" icon is listed in the community guidelines.)
So when we get an unfounded "violation notice" should we click the Customer Care icon and simply write:
"Please investigate the person who reported this as a violation, cause that person has obviously abused the "report abuse" icon as listed in the community guidelines."
"Also, please delete their IP availability so that person cannot sign-up again under a different name and consequent more abusive reporting of others."

Dear depressed, I think you are probably right. Maybe the IP deletion would be too harsh.

Dear "Depressed" - Maybe, "please warn this person that ______________, will lead to their IP being deleted".

Dear "doomsday" - I hope you never get a good morning insult in the form of a "violation notice".
(I am a very sensitive person, and when my feelings are hurt I pass gas, and then the apes in the cages next to mine throw banana peels at me.)

Customer care never listens. They seem to not even care, so why are they even called Customer "care?"

Sounds good to me. When I first came on here, I was radically against reporting anyone. I believe at one time I said I'd never do it (I felt it suppressed a person's freedom of speech). Then violation notices started coming to me--and not just for some of my harsher remarks; innocent comments as well.
My last notice happened today, actually, and involved a response of mine where I called a troll a "jerk." Yahoo must not have put any effort into reading the "question" of said troller, I'll tell you that much! The name-calling on my end didn't hold a candle to the spew of insults thrown in the "question." So I reported him back. F**k 'im!
That's the first person I've ever reported, and I'm a level 5.

The first time I was violated, it hurt my feelings. A few weeks ago, I woke up to five violations, and when I was adding details to a question....POOF.... it was gone. Instead of being hurt, I had a spring in my step to think I caused such a ruckus with a barely offensive but really funny question. I protested, but it fell on deaf ears. I want to be a YAHOO censor when I grow up, and I will hold the "report abuse" accountable.Just how many of those puppies can you get before you are out? I would miss you good people.
Love and hugs to you ram jet.

I appealed my deleted question, concerning Ram Jet...
They can violate me all they want(well in context, that is) LOL..but I really wanted her to see the response of Love from such a diverse section of Y/A comming together to offer a shoulder for her to lean on in this time of grieving...and then poof...it's gone.
Wayne,I let them know how I felt about not only my deleted question, but others as well...and what I thought about the slip-shod and blind way in which they handle these non-issues that are evidently brought to their attention,by a few, unhappy people with nothing better to do.
Very important...If you have a death in the family or experience some tragedy or maybe have an urgent request for help..evidently the Yahoo religion section,is not for you.
Maybe the math geeks would lend an open ear without reporting you. They seem to be an intelligent bunch.
EDIT I did not know that she was standing on my head..LOL

If you got a violation notice due to some jerkazoid not liking your (civil) opinion, then go ahead and report them for abusing the report abuse option. I can't promise that they will do anything about it, but you might feel better after....

By all means report people as much as possible. How else can you get revenge? None of us ever gets a deserved violation. That is what Answers is all about isn't it? or are you upset because you lost a couple of points. It's OK. Jesus loves you.

I am sure that type of techonology is available to enforce the community guidelines with your suggestions. I see nothing wrong with that. I'm also wondering like other folks, what is the holdup?

All the violations I've received were due to somebody not having a sense of humor (or maybe I have a really twisted sense of humor!). I always write to Yahoo and tell them, but I doubt they care.

That would be a good idea, especially if the reporter is reporting just because they didn't like someone's response.
But do you think yahoo admins would actually do something about it?
