Why are Christians offended when they are called Jesus Freaks or other similar names???

I'm not offended.... if i have to be a 'freak' then lemme be one for Jesus... but then, i don't see 'freak' as a negative term but one where that person is 'sold out' for something....

It does not offend me because i don't really care what people think of me. But a lot of people don't want to be referred to as "freaks" because it is a negative term. Nobody wants to be called a freak whether a Jesus freak or any other kind. Many other names have similar insulting tones.

It's not the words that Christians might find offensive, it's the spirit in which the words are offered. People rarely use the term"Jesus Freak" as an endearment. It's intended to be disrespectful and dismissive. No one wants to feel that way.

I'm a "fundie" (bible 100% true) conservative (I'm not afraid of those committing the sin of homosexuality or "a homophobe") appose slaughtering of unborn (abortion) or killing helpless (euthanasia) believe children should have the same chance to pray and study about Jesus as some schools allow Moslem children.Kids don't need to have premarital sex promoted to them.Jesus is the way to salvation:

Who's "freak are you"?
Nobody wants to be labeled a "freak", everybody wants to be a "moderate".
To my knowledge the word in question has its roots in the 1960's Jesus Movement.
Hippies, free love, that kind of stuff.
Being part to this excusive group I still take it as an honor.

I am not offended, but I do not think that we are freaks just because we love Jesus. Jesus is our Lord and Savior and He deserves our praise and our reverence and our worship and our love.

Jesus FREAKS.....would you like to be called an Atheist FREAK, or whatever religion you are?
Just because some Christians are fanatics, doesn't mean we all are...so assume we are, and then just to call us all that, is very hurtful.

I find it to be an honor an am not offended at all but instead find it pleasing that people notice without forcing them that I serve the LORD.
