mm some things can happen much faster than is thought imo ... but personally i think the universe is much older than the creation on earth ..

No I don't believe the whole 6000 years concept. As for God creating the Earth in 6 days that's a matter of perception. The Bible isn't meant to be interpreted directly. After all what is a day to God? Does God even have a time scale? Let's face it we'll never be sure until the day we meet our maker.

The presence of diamonds and other precious stones and metals proves the antiquity of the earth? Hardly!
Scientists today can create a carbon copy (pun intended) of a diamond in a lab in about one day! According to an article in Popular Science (and other articles I found online), these lab-created diamonds have the same atomic structure as mined diamonds. I'll go with Popper on this one...the existence of man-made diamonds that are chemically identical to mined diamonds DISPROVES the theory that heat, pressure, and most importantly, time was necessary to create them in nature!!!
The problem with the so-called "science" that has "proven" that the earth is older than 6,000 years is that the "evidence" relies on assumptions that are unprovable! True science can examine a diamond and tell us that it is comprised of carbon...and science can even approximate the measurement of the amount of pressure and heat generated by a certain volume of earth placed on a particular spot that contains natural diamonds. But they can't replicate those conditions so any further hypotheses about how much time it would take to change carbon into a diamond are a guess...a leap of faith!
The existence of man-made diamonds demonstrates that it IS possible to make a diamond out of carbon without time, heat or pressure...and I'm sure God had a MUCH better chemistry set than we have.
...and though it is ridiculously expensive, scientists can also create gold...and in time, they will probably figure out that it isn't all that different...it is just a matter of knowing how everything works (something God certainly knew if he created it).

I've heard that some believe the process of entropy(everything is wearing down) applies to the processes that run the earth. Using that theory, it could be explained that time moved faster, in a sense, when the world began than it does now. That would affect the way that we measure the age of fossils, based on our present understanding of time. This, then, would give credence to the belief that the earth is younger than believed. That's what I heard, anyway.

One religious view is that it was created in 6 days. I am not aware of any evidence to support this except possibly the Bible, which I would not consider to be evidence.
Another religious view is that the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) created the universe in 1 second. Any results disproving this is because the FSM is changing the results with His Noodly Appendage. Again, I am not aware of any evidence of this view, but how can there be if the FSM is constantly altering the results.
Another view (the scientific view) is that the universe is billions of years old. There is plenty of evidence to support this.
What you choose to believe is up to you.

All those examples are not exactly correct. There are fish suposedly extinct for millions of years that they are now catching alive(Coelencanth, pronounced seal-n- canth),Supposedly coal is and was under tons of pressure for millions of years yet scientists have found artifacts in buried coal like tin cups etc.right inside excavated chunks of coal.God says in Job 41 that he created Behemoth (a brontosaurus type dinosaur)along with man.A good example of that is the rocks they found in the Paulaxey river,Texas, that has the footprints of a dinosaur and a man in the same layer .Also do a search for Ica Stones and you'll see petrgraphs of men and Dinos together.Someone is fibbing and God is ,as usual ,making the wise of the world look foolish slowly but surely.

But alas you forgot the favored argument of believers.. God can do anything so god made the diamonds , the silver and the precious stones and put them in the ground right where we found them... He didn't need billions of years to do it because he's god...
Yup when your argument is an all knowing, all seeing, all doing magical deity you can ignore evidence and live in ignorant bliss..

yes god created the earth and the universe in.....?
Think of a number between 1 and 10.
Multiply the number by 9.
Add the digits of your result.
Subtract 5 from your new number.
Find the letter that corresponds to your number, if 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, etc.
Think of a country that begins with your letter.
Write down the name of that country.
Think of an animal beginning with the second letter of your country.
Think of the color of that animal.
Write down the animal and its color.
Think of an animal that begins with the last letter of your country.
Think of a fruit that begins with the last letter of this second animal.
Write down the fruit and the animal.

You know, that 6000 years business was calculated by a monk sometime before the rennaisance (spelling?). One assumption he made was that the bible actually listed every single generation up to some point in recorded history that he could then count from. If people today wish to believe something as dubious as that, then ok. But they shouldn't insist that the rest of us believe it. (though is suppose I must admit that the ones who insist on something as shaky as this are probably a minority.)

I don't understand why mankind expects to have all the answers about something that happened millions of years ago, wow! Documentation on matters from last century dont exist, so why do christians think all the answers come from a book!
Its a thing called arrogance.

I believe that the universe is over 13 billion years old and that the earth is over 4 billion years old. However, I flatly reject the modern day myth of evolution.
