i dont know where the battery is located can someone help ?

it is located in the trunk of the car.

Thing in the engine compartment left side 411 and 412 under the drivers seat. I used to work for VW. Type 111 and super bug type 113 the battery is under seat right rear

like the other guys said, look under your back seat. the bottom of the seat lifts out pretty easily. maybe put a floor mat over the top of the battery to keep the posts from grounding if someone sits in the seat.

If it's a sedan,(bug) it is indeed under the right rear seat cushion. Busses and Kharman Ghia are in engine compartment. I can't remember on Thing or type 411.
