to go from hertfordshire to london costs £15 by train+tube+bus in non-peak time and around £20 in peak time. and then they expect you to be squashed to death between smelly armpits and standing up (in the peak times) in dirty trains?? and to do this daily......i must be mad right??? can this sort of thing make a person go insane??

In the military, one of the sayings is: "Ours not to question why, ours but to do and die." Of course the rate is higher during peak time: more profit! I do say, people really should bathe more and do a better job of it.
Can it make a person go insane? Yes, unfortunately, if a person allows it to bother one too much. Just about anything can do that. If it gets to be too much, you will need to find an alternate way of transport...or the reason for your transport.
