Yes, I love mine. It is great for cooking and canning. I do urge you to read the directions and make sure all the pressure is out before you open it. (The little rocker on top when you push it to one side does not let out any steam. Again, I urge you to read directions. I have had one for over 20 years and no problem.
One of our favorite meals is Polish sausage, potatoes(cut in quarters) and cabbage. It only takes 20 minutes to cook and about 10 min. to let steam down.

Go ahead and buy one. I have three all different sizes.
The time saved in all cooking is amazing and so is the fuel cost.
Cooking times are affected by the altitude at which you use them, sea level is quickest, and on the top of Everest they take longer, but, you probably won't be going to Everest will you?
Just read the makers instructions and all will be well.
A word of caution, buy a cooker made from 18/10 stainless steel, not aluminum as this has a tendency to degrade when acidic food is cooked in them. This is allegedly a cause of Alzheimer's.
The cooker will come with a basic recipe book, and from there on it's up to you.
Good luck.

I have used one to can with but they are great for their intended use which was to cook tougher meats quickly. All foods cook pretty quick in there. You just have to follow directions and be careful because you can get steam burnt if you get in a hurry. Canning meat is easily done in these but you will have to be certain to use the right amount of time and pressure level.

they're great to cook with esp. if you cook a lot of beef (stew, etc) it makes the meat really tender. my mom- in-law does turkey (parts) in hers. i'm indian and we use ours for curry beef, and dal. cuts your cooking time in half or more. but make sure when you buy one it has the steam release button. if it doesnt you'll be waiting like 30 min before you can take the top off after cooking.
