I don't think He intelligently designed humans to eat nothing but fast food and grow fatter and slower either. That was an act of human stupidity, and the change in foods and stucture...

There were half-angel, half-human monsters who were very big, a bunch of malnourished humans who were pretty small, and people who are getting big again due to better nutrition and health care.
Soooo...we're just getting back to our old half-mortal roots, I'd say.

Actually I think that most of the 'taller and larger' part is down to better nutrition, I don't think there are selection pressures on us at the moment.

Nutrition might play a part, not sure why. Maybe it also has to do with the "melting pot" ..people of different countries marrying those from other countries.
