I understand this to mean that as I read the scriptures and experience difficulty understanding, then I need to pray and ask my Heavenly Father to help me understand. I have applied this, and know that this is a process of receiving personal revelation from God. Now, because I do not read commentaries, does that mean that I discredit them and advise people to stay away from them? No. My dad, on the other hand, loves to read them as references whenever he has questions.
