Catholics have been in Uruguay since the 1500s.

About 2.3 million of the 3.1 million people in Uruguay are Catholics.

You might want to contact the Archbishop of Montevideo for information on the needs of the people there:

Archbishop Nicolás Cotugno Fanizzi, S.D.B.
Calle Treinta y Tres 1368
Casilla de Correo entral 356
11000 Montevideo, Uruguay
Telephone: (02) 915-8127, 915-8879
Fax: 915-8926

With love in Christ.

There are lots of christian churches in Uruguay. About two thirds of the people there are christian. Your best bet would be get a contact by talking to any umbrella organization that your particular church belongs to.
