QQ is an instant messaging program (IM) just like MSN, Yahoo or ICQ.
It's popularity in China is best described as phenomenal. Haha, some people will ask you what's your QQ number before they will ask for your email address etc.

it is a chat thing that you use in ShenZhen,Shanghai,Beijing, like MSN, YAhoo messenger, but hong kong don't have it
