If you have a regular tatoo you shouldn't catch too much hardship over having it, but if you show up with a tattoo that says Marines or the symbol of the globe/eagle/anchor then you might not make it out of there alive! "So, you think you're a marine..." would be how it would begin followed by a barrade of "physical challenges" and "inspirational phrases". It goes along the lines of claiming to be a part of something that you have not yet acheaived. In my best advise, if you have the Marines symbol tattooed on you and your not a marine yet it doesn't matter if your at Parris Island, or San Diego for boot camp, you're going to have one hell of a time. Good luck.

Wait until she writes you. Just getting the address to Paris Island will not help you at all. You need to know what Bn and series she is in or the letter will never make it. She will be busy for the first few weeks so don't hold your breath on her writing too soon. Disregard the remark about only a Marine will do for her. No Marine in his or her right mind would date another Marine.

Depending on how long she's been in, I wouldn't worry. She should be able to write/call you with the address within the first week of bootcamp. If she's been in longer, talk to her mom or dad or other close relative who she may have written/called instead. Most times they only get one phone call or letter to tell the address and it's assumed that that one person will know who to give the address to.
Also, I suggest sending a greeting card instead of a letter, preferrably with a picture in it. The drill sergeants sometimes make reading the letters a "prize," something that needs to be earned. If it's a card, then it wont take much time to read and you can always write a short letter in it. Also, if you have a picture in it, not only does she get a picture of you (or you both together, or your dog, or whatever) but she has a chance to read the brief message in the card. I guarantee that will bring a smile to her day.
Finally, thank you for giving your girlfriend to the Marines. Your support of her will mean a great deal to her and she will mean a great deal to the country and us, the citizens.

Those who know shouldn't post the address publicly. You need to contact her parents and get the address. About 2 weeks after she left for boot camp, they should have received a post card or letter with her mailing address on it. That's the only way you can make sure it gets to her... it'll have her Company and Platoon information on it... if you don't include that, she may be lucky to ever get it..

She is going to be a Marine and you...are not! Man, you are goner. Wait until SHE sends the info. Right now she is too busy surviving the training. After the fourth week she will be able to write and if she doesn't, don't blame her because nothing else but another marine will do.

contact her parents or her recruiter.
by the way you have one strong girlfriend if she's at parris island to become a Marine. MCRD is the hardest thing someone can do. i hope she makes it through successfully.

Let me explain something. SHE has to write to you and give you ger address.
And, if you haven;t been in basic, you are on the go from dawn to dusk and then some, and you are just too damn tired to write letters. Be patient , ,man.

Call her recruiter and above all relax. Her recruiter can get it for you. She won't have much time too write at first though so don't take it to heart. I barely wrote my wife the first six weeks. Relax though she'll be under alot of stess already.

You need her platoon number. I'm surprised she didn't send you her mailing address, but you should be able to get it from her parents or recruiter.
