The food is good for them and so is the LORD. Isn't this a good way to show Godly compassion?

The charity is inspired by the spirit of the LORD. Is there something wrong with children learning this?

No true Christian tells the children they must get saved or starve.

It's definitely the "if" that's wrong.
How could you ask a kid to convert to something it can't understand at it's age in exchange for food, in other words, it's life? You'd better teach him how to grow food or otherwise make a living. Don't block the products he or she will make with all kinds of subsidies to your own fat economy and self-protective import laws, so you can keep bathing in your own wealth. Don't support the dictators and stop selling guns to the poor people in the world. But what's your wealth worth if there nothing sad to compare it with?
And just to inform you, most of the poorest regions in Africa, are very christian and don't need to be converted anymore, and probably pray more than you do. Maybe you don't pray enough for these people?
I hope you're a troll, otherwise you're pretty sick in the head.

Most if not all the reasons the children are starving is bad government not a lack of food or resources. The government gives food to those it wants to have it. Some it chooses to let starve to bring them into submission.
It is an act of war.

The food should not be used as bait. And helping people in need should not come from something a religion tells you that you should be instinctively born with to start with.

If anything, they should be baited with education first if you bait them at all, then when they are healthy and educated, then they will make the right choice about religion. And when they are educated, they won't be depressed and won't breed as much.

Yes, there is plenty wrong. You're undermining the indigenous culture, and I don't trust your motives.

"No true Christian tells the children they must get saved or starve." but EVERY Christian says "You must accept the Lord or you will burn in Hell."

Your question confuses me a bit but I think you are trying to imply that it is wrong to go to depressed countries and give food only to those who get saved.? If that is so, then I agree. There should be no other thing offered to people no matter where they are in the world or what poverty they are in other than the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ. If a ministry wants to go to depressed countries and preach the Gospel WHILE they give out food with no strings attached then I'm all for it. But if ministries are enticing people with food or whatever and then only giving it to them when they say "The sinners prayer" accepting Jesus Christ, then that's blackmail plain and simple and God does not operate like that. Additionally, I'd like to add that scare tactics whereby ministries use hell to scare people into Christ are all out of Gods order! Yes, hell is a fact of an unrepentant souls destination but Jesus said that His followers were to go out into the world and teach and preach in love as He did. Jesus did not use scare tactics or gimmicks to get people to follow Him. He just taught the truth and He used love to draw them in.

There's nothing wrong as long as you're willing to give the food to those who don't get saved as well.

Holding out food as a bribe for people doing what you want is just that ~ a bribe.

People will believe in your ideas if you show them true care without wanting something from them in return ... they will remember that and honour it.

Good luck! :-)

You are absolutely right, one's belief system should not deny them charity, since a true believer would show love and compassion to his or her fellow human beings, not be so hateful and militant like so many of these evangelicals and radical right wing christians behave and think.

Ummm...ok.

I think it is better to go to these "depressed nations" and offer them help in growing their own food, making safe drinking water, and helping them to educate their young. Also, spread the word of protected sex and prevention of AIDS and other STD's.

If you just give them food, they will eat and then return to starvation once the food runs out. They need a renewable resource for food/water.

I hope that answers your question.

No disciple of Jesus Christ seeks glory from men, do not let your left hand know what your right hand does.

It is God the Father's commandment that we should give to those who have not, but we do not have to go to them so that they glorify us, all glory belongs to God the Father.

Do not make the same mistakes as Moses and the prophets made.
